Hamid R. Esbah, DMD


Biography

Dr. Hamid R. Esbah is a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. He completed his oral surgery residency training at Lincoln Medical Center in New York holding the chief resident position in his last year. He completed a year of fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He completed his Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University and his undergraduate degree in Biology and Bio-chemistry from Elizabethtown College, graduating with honors.

Dr. Esbah is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association and Massachusetts Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has been the Chairman of the East Middlesex Dental Society, the Chief of Service of Lowell General Hospital, Department of Dentistry, and the President of IAMA, MA chapter.

Dr. Esbah enjoys teaching at Tufts School of Dental Medicine, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has given lectures nationally and internationally covering a variety of topics ranging from dental implants, management of obstructive sleep apnea to distraction osteogenesis. In private practice, he offers the latest surgical techniques and utilizes three dimensional cone beam CT technology in treat planning his cases. He always exceeds the minimum continuing education requirements of the state. He has hospital privilege at Winchester Hospital and Lowell General Hospital.

Dr. Esbah joined a team organized by the Tufts School of Dental Medicine to treat patients in
Ecuador. This gave him the chance to mostly treat children who needed a variety of surgical procedures.

In his spare time, Dr. Esbah enjoys poetry, outdoor activities, traveling with his wife and three children as well as volunteering for community programs.
